Terms & Conditions (Active)
By booking with Hibachi SoCal, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
- Pricing & Fees
- Menu prices are per person and may change without notice.
- A 3% operations service charge applies to all reservations.
- Stair handling is $4.00 per step when unloading or setup requires stairs.
- Sales tax applies to the total purchase.
- Southern California Travel Fee
- We calculate a $2.00 per mile premium travel fee from Escondido CA 92029 to your venue. Our travel fee ensures every hibachi experience arrives on time with the right chefs, equipment, and ambiance. The fee covers fuel, professional driver and chef travel time, van maintenance, and transporting specialty grills, décor, and refrigeration. It also supports logistics planning so we can serve any Southern California location without compromising safety or showmanship.
- For extended distances or unique venues—such as mountain resorts, private estates, or gated communities—we will provide a tailored quote.
- Key Travel Fee Details
- Rate: $2.00 per mile after the first 20 miles
- Distance Basis: One-way road miles from ZIP 92029 to the confirmed event address.
- Optional Settings: Minimum travel fee and complimentary radius miles can be enabled when applicable.
- Billing: Travel charges are itemized on your invoice once scheduling is approved.
- Adjustments: Tolls, restricted access, special parking, or permit requirements may be added when necessary.
- Deposits & Payments
- A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve any date.
- The remaining balance is due one day prior to the event.
- Late balances may accrue 1.5% monthly interest (or the legal maximum).
- Returned payments or chargebacks incur a $35 administrative fee plus processor and collection costs.
- Gratuity
- For parties of 20 or more guests, an automatic 18% gratuity applies.
- For smaller events, a gratuity of 18–30% is customary and may be added upon request.
- Scheduling & Setup
- Standard arrival is 30–60 minutes before the agreed start time.
- Optional early table setup is available at $100 per hour when confirmed 3–4 days in advance.
- Client will provide level workspace, safe access or parking, and—if contracted—reasonable access to power and water.
- Changes
- Changes within 48 hours of the event (start time, guest count, menu, table colors, and similar) incur a $50 same-day change fee.
- No changes can be accommodated within 8 hours of start time due to staffing and fresh procurement requirements.
- Cancellation & Reschedule
- Client may cancel and reschedule to a future event with at least 15 calendar days’ notice by emailing hibachisocal@gmail.com
- Reschedule credit is valid for 6 months from the cancellation date.
- Reservations made less than 3 days before the event are not eligible for cancellation or reschedule.
- Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit the minimum deposit.
- Inclement Weather (Outdoor Events)
- We do not cancel for weather. Client is responsible for accommodations such as tents or covered patios. Cooking may occur under a garage or carport if space and ventilation allow, and indoor relocation is permitted if safe. If full cancellation is necessary due to weather, notify us 15 or more days prior to remain eligible to reschedule.
- Open Flame, Propane & Tents (California)
- Client must secure all venue approvals and required permits for LP-gas or propane and any tents or canopies per local fire code and AHJ rules. Open-flame cooking is not permitted inside tents; clearances and other requirements apply. If the site is non-compliant, Hibachi SoCal may decline service without refund.
- Allergies & Cross-Contact
- Client shall notify us at least 5 business days in advance of any allergies. Despite best practices, cross-contact may occur in shared environments. The Big-9 allergens include milk, egg, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame. No allergen-free guarantee is provided; Hibachi SoCal assumes no liability for reactions when notice is late or absent.
- Food Safety & Leftovers
- We maintain safe temperatures during service. After service ends, all leftover food becomes the client’s responsibility.
- Two-hour rule (or one hour if above 90°F) applies to perishables. Hibachi SoCal is not responsible for food consumed after service or removed from temperature control.
- Wait Time & Overtime
- Delays not caused by Hibachi SoCal are billable at $50 per chef per 30 minutes, subject to staff availability.
- Damage, Clean-Up & Trash
- We perform standard cleanup of our cooking and service area. Client is responsible for venue trash or recycling and any damage to property caused by guests, third-party vendors, or venue conditions.
- Chef Unavailability / Substitution
- We will use reasonable efforts to substitute if a scheduled chef is unavailable. If no replacement can be secured, the deposit attributable to that chef will be refunded.
- Liability Cap & Indemnity
- Hibachi SoCal’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amounts paid by the client for the specific services giving rise to the claim. Hibachi SoCal shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Client agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Hibachi SoCal and its personnel from third-party claims arising out of the client’s venue, guests, or legal non-compliance.
Privacy Policy
Hibachi SoCal values your privacy. We collect personal information (such as name, phone, email, event details, and payment information) solely for the purpose of processing reservations, providing services, and communicating with you.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties, except as required to process payments, comply with legal obligations, or support event operations.
We implement commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your data; however, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

SMS Consent
By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS messages from Hibachi SoCal regarding reservations, event updates, promotional offers, and account-related notices.
